【摘要】:Itisknownthattheobservedeffectsofwindsimulatedinawind-tunnelapparatusarerelatedtotheeffectsobservedfromnaturalwind.Theresistanceoftilestosimulatedwindinthistestrelatestotheresistanceofthetilestotheeffectsofnaturalwindwhentheyareappliedtoaroof.Onefactorintheresistanceofthetilestotheeffectsofbothnaturalandsimulatedwindisthemethodofattachmentspecifiedinthemanufacturer’instructions.Thistestmethoddeterminestheupliftforcesactingasaresultofthesimulatedwindwhentileareattachedtoasectionofroofdeckinaccordancewiththemanufacturer’instructions.Naturalwindconditionsdifferwithrespecttointensity,duration,andturbulence;theseconditionsarebeyondthemeansofthistestmethodtosimulate.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaproceduretodeterminetheresistanceofconcreteandclayrooftilestosimulatedwindeffectsinawind-tunnelapparatus.Simulatedwindvelocitiesof70mph(31m/s)to130mph(58m/s)areemployed.1.2Thevaluesstatedininchpoundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesaregivenforreferenceonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
