【摘要】:Theonlytrulyvalidimagequalityindicatorisamaterialorcomponent,equivalenttothepartbeingneutronradiographed,withaknownstandarddiscontinuity,inclusion,omissionorflaw(referencestandardcomparisonpart).TheSIisdesignedtosubstituteforthereferencestandard,providingqualitativeinformationonholeandgapsensitivityinasingleunit.Fabricationinaccordancewiththispracticeisvitalforaccurateandconsistentmeasurements.ThispracticeshallbefollowedforthefabricationofallSIstobeusedwithMethodE545todetermineimagequalityindirectthermalneutronradiography.1.1ThispracticecoversthefabricationofSensitivityIndicators(SI),whichcanbeusedtodeterminetherelativequalityofradiographicimagesproducedbydirect,thermalneutronradiographicexamination.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsareregardedasthestandard.TheSIequivalentsgiveninparenthesesinthetextareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
